What is the difference between collected, licensed and analyzed page views?

For products:
Webtrends On Demand
Webtrends Analytics 9.2x
Webtrends Analytics 8.x

Introduction:

The definitions of the terms collected page views, licensed page views, and analyzed page views are as follows:

Collected page views are the raw hit count from the log files that are processed.

Licensed page views are the total number of collected page views minus non-page view extensions (.gif;jpg;bmp;png;wbmp;jpeg;css;js;dtd;asmx;ascx).

Analyzed page views are the licensed page views minus the data that is removed by the use of any exclude filters AND those pages that are not defined in the Page File Types.
The majority of the report page views only contain hits from the log file that contain 200-300 return codes. All 400-500 return code page views are only represented in the error reports.

NOTE: From Webtrends On Demand version 8.6 forward, the unit of measurement used for billing and licensing for On Demand will change from "Page Views" to "Server Calls." This is purely a change in terminology and will have no impact on billing, licensing, or reporting.
